Editorial Standards

The principles behind how The Alana Show prepares, presents, sponsors, and corrects conversations.

Last updated August 10, 2026

The Alana Show is an independent editorial media property built around prepared, substantive conversations with people whose experience, work, ideas, or service are worth examining.

01

Mission and point of view

The show is guided by curiosity, preparation, service, and the belief that a strong conversation can be direct without becoming careless or performative.

The Alana Show has an identifiable host and editorial voice. Independence does not mean the absence of perspective; it means guests, sponsors, organizations, and outside interests do not receive hidden control over the show's editorial judgment.

02

Accuracy and attribution

Names, roles, organizations, dates, links, and other factual information published by the website should be verified before they are represented as fact. Guest statements and opinions remain attributable to the people who express them.

When a subject is developing or genuinely disputed, the show aims to distinguish established facts from analysis, opinion, prediction, or a guest's account.

Archive principle

Permanent episode, guest, and topic pages are intended to preserve the context of the original conversation while making verified relationships easier to discover.

03

Guest selection

Guest inquiries are considered for editorial fit, subject matter, timing, relevance, experience, and the quality of the conversation they can contribute. Submitting an inquiry does not guarantee an appearance.

Selected community-service guests are not charged an appearance fee. A guest's appearance is not presented as an endorsement by The Alana Show of every position, organization, product, or statement associated with that guest.

04

Sponsorship and editorial independence

Advertising and sponsorship opportunities are clearly identified as commercial relationships. Sponsorship may provide visibility around programming, a conversation, a collection, or regional coverage, but it does not purchase favorable coverage or hidden editorial control.

Commercial fit matters. The show may decline a partnership that does not fit the audience, subject matter, presentation, or editorial character of The Alana Show.

05

Candidate and public-service conversations

Candidate interviews and public-service conversations are presented as opportunities for listeners to hear people discuss their background, priorities, experience, and vision in their own words.

An interview, invitation, listing, or appearance does not by itself constitute an endorsement. The existence or timing of one candidate conversation should not be interpreted as a promise that every candidate or public figure will appear.

06

Corrections and feedback

If original website copy contains a material factual error and the correction can be verified, The Alana Show aims to correct it promptly and preserve appropriate context when the nature of the correction matters.

To flag a possible factual error, identify the page, the statement at issue, and the best available supporting source. Email Alana@AlanaKVandeveer.com.
