Accessibility
The Alana Show aims to make its website usable by as many people as practical across devices, input methods, and assistive technologies.
Accessibility is treated as part of quality—not as a separate visual mode. The site's ongoing target is to follow WCAG 2.2 Level AA principles where they are applicable to the experience.
Our approach
The Alana Show is designed and maintained with keyboard access, semantic structure, readable content, visible focus, responsive layouts, and reduced-motion preferences in mind.
This statement describes an ongoing accessibility target, not a claim of independent certification or perfect conformance across every browser, device, assistive technology, or third-party service.
Accessibility features built into the site
- Skip links that allow keyboard users to move directly to primary content.
- Keyboard-operable navigation, search, dialogs, links, and forms with visible focus treatment.
- Semantic headings, landmarks, breadcrumbs, labels, status messages, and descriptive link context.
- Alternative text or accessible labels for meaningful images and branded media treatments.
- Responsive layouts intended to remain usable across mobile, tablet, and desktop widths.
- Reduced-motion handling for visitors who express that preference through their operating system or browser.
- Form validation and status messages designed to communicate errors and successful actions without relying on visual styling alone.
Audio and video
The website connects visitors to full conversations on YouTube and listening platforms. Captions, transcripts, player controls, and other media-accessibility features may depend partly on the platform hosting the audio or video.
Permanent episode pages are also designed to provide written titles, guest relationships, summaries or descriptions when available, and topic context so the page remains useful outside the embedded player.
Third-party content and known limitations
Some linked or embedded experiences—including YouTube, podcast platforms, True Oldies, social networks, sponsor sites, and guest or organization websites—are operated by third parties. Their accessibility is outside The Alana Show's direct technical control.
Accessibility can also vary with browser extensions, older devices, zoom settings, and assistive-technology combinations. The site is continually tested for common regressions, but a problem can still surface in a particular environment.
